My vivomove style will not pair with my phone.

My vivomove style stopped pairing with the connect app. I've tried the following:

  • Unpairing my vivomove style in bluetooth settings and in the connect app.
  • Clearing the data under the bluetooth settings in system apps.
  • Resetting my vivomove style.
  • Restarting my phone (Galaxy note 8 - latest android updates installed).
  • Uninstslling and reinstalling the connect app.

Each time I try to pair my device, before I get the chance to insert the six digit PIN displayed on my watch, I get an error saying 'Failed'. I only get about 1 second to insert the PIN before this error message occurs.

Any assistance would be appreciated,  thanks.

  • P.s. Each time this happens, I get an error message ony phone saying that it cannot pair the device because the PIN is incorrect. 

  • Do you pair with the Connect app first? That would be the way to do it. If you've been pairing to the phone first, it's usually the phone pairing that requires the PIN.

    Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was trying to pair through the app. I got several messages to check the notifications on my phone for bluetooth messages, but still could not pair it.

    I did manage to pair it eventually. I plugged the watch into my computer and coud pair it while plugged in. After it was paired my vivomove style woud not synch and the app indicated that the watch was not connected. I got notifications to make sure that Bluetooth was turned on both on my watch and the phone, which it was.  It synced once, but not since.

    It still says my device is not connected, even though bluetooth is enabled and turned on on both my phone and my watch.  I'm reluctant to unpair it again.....

  • Try this:

    Go to devices in the Android Connect app and long-press the device. Connect should ask you if you want to update the Bluetooth connection.

    Thanks again for your reply. When i tried your suggestion a pop up box appeared, giving details of my device.

    Product Name:  Vivomove style,

    Unit ID - xxx etc.

    Hardware Address - xxx etc. 

    Last connected (this morning). 

    Then it gives me an option to cancel or remove device. 

    It does not give me an option to update the bluetooth connection. :-(
