Resting Heart Rate drop - should I be worried?

I have noticed an odd trend, the last 12 months are 67, 64, 66, 64, 65, 64, 63, 66, 66, 65, 57, 53 ... last couple of months look odd on the graph!

  • Typically a lower RHR is the sign of better fitness, but it certainly can be also caused by health issues. Do not expect that the forum will tell you whether you should be worried or not. Ask your physician.

  • So the question was slightly tongue in cheek, but I ask on here in case a new algorthm for recording HR has been implemented with the latest updates around the turn of the year

  • Resting HR the the lowest HR recorded in the daily data for given day. And since the sampling rate of 2 minutes did not change, I do not think there was a change in the algorithm either. If you think such a drop of RHR is impossible, and that the HRM may be malfunctioning, try monitoring the HR with an alternative device, preferably a HRM chest belt.
