Measure distance in the middle of a workout

Hi folks, in the middle of a coach workout I'd like to start measuring a track I've come across for example without losing progress on the workout itself. Is it possible to jump out and do that and then jump back in?

  • I do not quite understand what exactly you mean by measuring the track - the track is being recorded all the time when in an activity, so can't you just use the recorded track in Garmin Connect for measuring whatever you need?

  • Ah sorry. In the USA sometimes we say "track" to mean a running track, and not just a path or road.

So what I mean is: let's say I've started the workout out the door, then continue on a sidewalk, then a trail, THEN come across a running track and would like to measure the distance going around the track at that time without interrupting the programmed workout.

  • Use the lap button to mark the beginning and the end of the track. On some watches, the lap button needs to be enabled in the settings of the ativity, for Running. Alternatively you can use the Lap function in the Stop menu of the Activity, or define a hotkey for the Lap.
