Swimming workout in vivoactive 3

Is there an option to add a swimming workout to my vivoactive 3 as it always says incompatible

You can check out the compatibility of individual Garmin devices with diverse workout types on the following page. Vivoactive 3 is indeed not listed at Pool Swim workouts:
