Feature Request: Alarm on Body Battery Full

The body battery feature (for me at least) seems to be a pretty accurate representation of my energy level when I wake up and get going for the day.

It would be really nice if (especially on the weekends) I could have set my smart-watch alarm to sound and wake me up once my body battery level gets to 100%, or maybe 15 minutes after it gets to 100%, etc.

  • Have you checked when the body batttery is full? It is probably in the middle of the night for most users. As soon as you wake up the body battery starts to discharge and it can recharge a little if you go into a restful state, but you will not reach 100%. Just my two cents.

    How are you going to use such an alarm? Will you go up at 3-4 AM and start your day? You are physically recharged when the body battery is 100% (if it is accurate) but your brain needs more sleep.

  • Typically when I wake up its has charged overnight to the 85-95% range. Some mornings it reaches 100% an hour or 90m before I would normally get up, and I feel great. And there have been times on a weekend when I have woken, seen it was at 85%, hit the snooze and slept like 30 more minutes and gotten it up closer to 100% and felt a significant difference in my energy level immediately. Yes I would wake up and start my day 1-2 hours earlier if I was already at 100% by then. At this stage in my life I have the discipline to get up immediately when it's time to get up, but I think an extra 30 minutes in some situations would be worth the trade off to feel that much better first thing.

    As I said in my first statement: for me and my body it seems very accurate metric of how much sleep I got. Regardless of whether you would find it useful, I would enjoy a feature that allows me to leverage the data its already collecting to shift my wake up time +/- one hour. There are already dozens of stupid phone apps that try to wake you at the right point in your sleep rhythm, I'm asking for one that monitors my sleep like this does already and just nudges me when I have had enough sleep. Regardless of whether it is a work day, a camping trip, or just a lazy Sunday I don't want to waste any more time in bed--unconscious--than necessary.

    Before you say it, yes I could just go to bed earlier. I shouldn't have waste time explaining the dozens of examples that might cause someone to get to bed later on any specific occasion.  This feature would help me maximize the rest time I can achieve on any given night.

  • Maybe you should look into why your body battery isn't recharing quicker. Select to Show stress. It should be all blue while you sleep. 

    Then you should suggest this to Garmin. If you write it in this forum it is just for discussion with fellow Garmin users.
