FTP and Power zones settings not accessible on mobile app

Yesterday I tried to manually update my FTP and power zones in the GC mobile app (android). When I go to the power zones settings I see an empty page, with just a 'go back' button.

I changed my FTP settings on the GC web page with no problems. It synced to my device successfully. But the mobile app still shows the old FTP value.

I experience the same problems on two different phones - one with android 9 and the other with android 6.

I tried to reinstall the mobile app but nothing changed.

I see there were similar problems 7 years ago.

Does anybody know a solution?

  • I have the same problem.

My Garmin Edge 1030 has auto updated my FTP on the device after a ride yesterday, but it hasn't been transferred to the Garmin Connect App which still shows the old value (select Performance Stats->Functional Threshold Power).

On the Garmin Connect App, if I select the main menu option 'Garmin Devices', then select Edge 1030->User Settings, it give the menu options to view the heart rate zones and power zones. I can view the heart rate zones as expected, but if I try to view the power zones, I just get a blank screen the same as you. There doesn't seem to be a way of viewing the power zones.

It hasn't been updated on Garmin Connect Web either. When I select Reports->Functional Threshold Power from the main menu, it still shows the old value but it has been updated on Garmin Connect Web device settings i.e. I select the 'Devices Button' (Top Right Hand Button on the Garmin Connect Web screen), and then select the Edge 1030 device. Power Zones are shown on the User Settings tab and have been updated to the new FTP value. I can also make changes on the web to the FTP value and power zones (I assume they will be transferred to the device, but can't test because it's updating the maps at the moment and won't be finished for 40 mins. I will test later and report back).

    Definitely a Garmin fault

  • I can confirm that changes to the FTP value and/or power zones on the Garmin Connect Web are transferred to the Edge 1030 device but are not reflected on the Garmin Connect Web Report for Functional Threshold Power, which still shows the old value??????

  • In my case the new FTP value was updated after I uploaded a new cycling activity. Try doing that.

I still can't see the power zones page though.

  • Has anyone been able to figure out the blank page on the android mobile app?

  • I have the same problem. My android mobile connect app still shows my old ftp setting, while my 520 shows my current Ftp setting. I also have the blank page under device/user/power settings. Heart rate shows up but power does not

  • Go to Garmin Connect / Devices (your device) / User Settings/power zones/cycling

you can then manually change FTP (and the zones)

  • Thank you. Very helpful
