Forerunner 245 Music Syncing

I have an android. Today I did 3 activities and none of the milage worked on the watch.

I was on the treadmill and selected treadmill activity and it didn't sync. I then used the run activity and it didn't track either but maybe that is because the run activity is solely for outdoor

I then did a run for Garmin coach and the mileage didn't track on watch.

The intensity and steps counted though.

I have ran on a treadmill this weekend twice and the mileage worked on watch. Not sure what happened  today.

Hi Kurt I did 3 outdoor activities today. 1 run and 2 walks. They are not syncing to Garmin Connect either. I keep getting a message saying syncing failed. I have the 245. I have updated Garmin Connect, uninstalled it, removed the device and put it back on. Nothing is working. Also, I did a Garmin Coach 5km session which its not recognising.

  • Have a look at the post in this thread - it lists all posible reasons, and the solutions for fixing them.

You can also check the Device Sync Audit in GC Mobile Settings, and search for some more detailed hints on the sync failure.

  • I looked at that thread and none of the 4 matched my issues. I ran again today 3 times and each time it came up short .25 miles short per mile on the treadmill. I ran outside and it was fine. Does treadmill just not work?

  • Your original complain was that the watch did not sync, but now you tell the distance is wrong. Does it mean the sync issue is resolved?

As for the distance - recalibrate the Treadmill Activity, once you complete the treadmill run (see and use the option in the Stop menu, before you save the Activity). And, of course, you can edit the distance also manually in Garmin Connect, once it is saved.

  • I guess I meant distance synching that is my main issue. What do you mean when you say recalibrate?

  • I guess I meant distance synching that is my main issue.

If you mean the syncing of the treadmill distance, then use one of the options I suggested in my previous post - either calibrate the treadmill activity, or enter the distance manually in Garmin Connect.

What do you mean when you say recalibrate?
