Garmin pay doesn't work for my Vivoactive 3

I have a new phone: Samsung S10+.

I've installed the app.

Paired and sync'd.

When I try to add my card, the app just crashes repeatedly.

I've uninstalled and installed again.

No luck.

Am I doing something wrong?

I saw another similar post 8 months ago from someone - no one answers.

Help!

I've had the original vivoactive for a couple years and am going to be upgrading soon the service issues I've faced numerous times are a top reason why I'm potentially going to switch brands
