New 945 indicates GPS connected but fails to track run

Purchased my first Garmin product - 945 - & even though it indicates GPS connected it has failed to track a run on multiple occasions. I have spent hours reading recommended fixes without successful resolution. The purpose of this post is to seek needed direction & support.

  • It could be due to the expired EPO file, and your phone still having the WiFI enabled, when you left home, but no more being in its range, hence the EPO file update was not downloaded. Turn off wifi before starting the activity, and make sure mobile data is functional. You can also update the EPO file over thew USB cable with Garmin Express.
