How come garmin hasn't made the app work with a Samsung?

They did. I use Garmin Connect with my Samsung without problems.

Did you try accessing the Garmin Connect Mobile page in Google Play store through the website on the address https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.garmin.android.apps.connectmobile&hl=en&gl=US ? What does the page show?

What error do you get when trying to install the APK? You can try installing an older version, if the most recent one does not want to install.

Hi trux. Very unfortunately that seems to be the problem - my phone is with the Android Go edition. Which means I will either have to change my phone or my Garmin...

Thanks, that was an excellent piece of advise! It didn't cross my mind that I could do it on the computer as well.

However, now I feel very stupid... I installed the Garmin Express and tried to install my device on it, but as I plug it in with the USB cable and try to add a device, the programme just keeps on searching and doesn't find/recognise my device.  And yet, it is connected to the computer as it gets charged. Not sure where the problem could be now...

Can you see the device in File Explorer (if on Windows), or in Finder (if on Mac)? If not, then you may need to change the USB mode in the settings of your watch to the "Mass Storage" mode.

I cannot tell, since you did not mention what Garmin device you own, but you will find it in the user manual. Typically it is in the System Settings, though.

I have a Vivosport and I checked the manual (also in the Garmin website), but there is nothing like that in the System Settings (that's where I also thought I should find it).
