Hi Everyone,
Relatively recently I decided that I want to do a 70.3 ironman next year, and to help me through the year training smart I got myself a Garmin 645 Music, which I'm loving but I have an issue.
When I first got the watch, after a few cycles and short runs, it estimated my Vo2max was 46. (I've been wearing it for a little over a month now)
Since then I got really busy at work, and I'm sure recovery suffered, and the watch started telling me my training status was 'unproductive' and my Vo2max started dropping to 43 now.
Things got more manageable again at work, my stress level dropped (which is very clear to see in the app too) and my feeling during my workouts is better again.
I did a ramp test on Zwift, and my FTP is the same as it was about 6 weeks ago (I've been focusing more on running in the last couple of weeks) and when it comes to my runs I have both increased average speed as distance.
So in my mind, I'm progressing, but according to my watch my training status is still 'unproductive and my Vo2max is still at 43.
I'm stronger at cycling than I am at running, and I have been mainly training on ZWIFT using the Wahoo Kickr core, which doesn't seem to sync all date seamlessly with the connect app, could that be giving me the skewed number?
Is it that the watch overestimated my fitness when I just started wearing it? and that is still settling? It's a little bit demotivating to always see that 'unproductive' notification whenever I open the app. while I feel like I'm progressing.
Anyone had similar issues? did it resolve itself over time? should I just not care too much about the training status? any feedback is much appreciated!
