Hi All - I can't find the exact issue i'm experiencing in the forums. I have been using garmins for quite some time and have had a ton of problems with text notifications on the watches. I have always had a samsung phone and have had a couple garmins - vivoactive and now the forerunner 645. I have always had a ton of issues with text notifcations and i was hoping that someone can help me navigate this frustrating issue.
ALL of my notifications function correctly outside of my texts. My texts do work sometimes, but about every 2 weeks I run into a problem where they crap out. I have an Samsung Galaxy S20 plus.
What I have tried
1. Resetting the phone
2. Installing a 3rd party app that keeps garmin connected (garmin connect, i think)
3. Reset phone to default
4. Reset watch to default
5. Rebooted both
6. Made sure notification settings are setup correctly, they certainly are because they work fine sometimes
7. Made sure that the OneUI software samsung has on their phones isn't putting the app to sleep - it is not limited for power management
I have tried so many things over the last couple of years and what eventually works is removing the watch from Garmin Connect and re-adding it. THe last time I did that, I had to do it 3 times before it started to work again. That's a huge pain in the rear.
Can anyone suggest any settings?
