Calendar notifications not working on new Vivoactive 4s

Hi

Just got a Vivoactive 4s and have followed the instructions to alllow phone, text, calendar and other app notifications to appear on the watch. All work except for calendar which I need for work. Any suggestions on how to fix this? My husband's calendar notifications work on his Garmin Instinct.

  • It could be that you are using different calendar app than you enabled in the GC Mobile app notification settings. Compare the settings with your husband, and make sure you use the same calendar app, and in the same way as himself too. The functionality is not depending on the watch model. Only on the GC Moibile settings, and on the calendar app.

    Thanks for your response, we have double checked settings for both phones and watches, calendar app and settings are identical but mine is still not notifying me of my calendar events/reminders.

  • Well, there must be some difference. Perhaps on the level of the Android system. It is certainly not because of the different model. If you do not trust me, and want to verify it, try temporaily linking your watch to husband's account to see whether it gets the Calendar notifications there or not.

    Note: it is safer to perform the Master Reset on the watch before swapping the accounts (in both ways, to your husband's account, and then before switching back to yours), to avoid the mixup of user data.

    Ended up uninstalling Samsung Calendar and installing Google calendar and now notifications work perfectly.

    make sure you use the same calendar app

    Thanks for your help.  Both of us were using the same calendar app and it still wouldn't work with my watch, hence changing it to Google.

    Interesting. Perhaps your husband has the Samsung app linked to the Googe Calendar, so it transfers there all events automatically.
