Calories counted wrong after change of weight

When I had weight 110 kg, my watch shown basal metabolism as 2 033 kcal. Which is more or less according to other sources

When I changed my weight to 100 kg, my watch shown basal metabolism 2 302 kcal and active calories were too high for my activities.

Whey I changed my wight to 90 kg, my watch shows basal metabolism 2 192 kcal.

When I look at settings, everything is set right. Age 44, height 180 cm, weight 90 kg, activity none

  • The watch (or Garmin Connect) does not show the BMR (Basal Metbolic Rate), but the RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate), which is a bit higher than the BMR The values you mention are relatively close to values shown by some other online resources - for example at Free Instant Online Body Analysis, or RMR Calculator

Thank you for fast answer, but why weight reduction from 110 kg to 100 kg raised RMR? Nothing else was changed

Another thing. From the change of the weight, active calories are much higher. Too high.

  • but why weight reduction from 110 kg to 100 kg

The original value for 110 kg seems clearly wrong. Why tha, I have no idea, but perhpas the original seetings were different. Change the weight back to 110kg, to see what it gives now.

From the change of the weight, active calories are much higher. Too high.

What does it mean - too high? Try adjusting the Actvity Class to respect the reality. Apart from your HR and the HR Variability, it is one of the few factors having any influence on the Active Calories calculation.

Ok, I will try to set 110 kg back, but Im sure it doesnt help. Ive changed weight to 90 kgs and it follows the propper pattern (it reduced RMR). Im sure, the change initial change from 110 to 100 kg has changed a setting and the setting is now valid for good.

I will explain why recent setting is wrong. During summer Ive lost about 15 kg. Ive counted my meals and used the calories burned from watch in excel sheet. The the data were more or less accurate. How much Ive burned energy (and garmin gave me data more or less similar to formulas on net), the amount Ive lost in kg. Therefore the calculation was more or less right and it followed basal metabolism + active calories (thats why I didnt look at RMR)

Yesterday I had a small walk (4,63 km walked, 16 floors climbed), else doing nothing. Previous formula would show me something like base 2 033 kcal, active calories 300-400. Recent calculation shows me (with setting of 90 kg) 2 192 + 864. Active calories doubled. There is no way I could burn yesterday 3 000 kcal.

Activity class was 0 and is 0. Raising of activity class would reduce or rise the active calories?

  • Ok, I will try to set 110 kg back, but Im sure it doesnt help.

I did not mean it should help. I meant to prove it was set wrongly at the beginning.

I understand this. But the problem is, as Ive shown you, data now are useless.
