Garmin Cycling Plan - cross training

I set a Cyclette training Plan, on Garmin connect, to training on my bike indoor.

There are some sessions, called "cross training" without any description.

What is intended with this session ???

  • I'm having the same issue. I assume "cross-training" means something like running, or a gym training session? But the app says "bike" so I'm still lost on this workout for the time being. Hopefully someone from Garmin has a better idea?

  • If you look at some of the other training plans from Garmin zone 2 aerobic it says

"This workout can be on a bike or cross-training such as cross-country skiing or hiking".

It would lead me to think cross-training is

    Cross-country skiing or hiking

  • From WikiPedia:

Cross-training is athletic training in sports other than the athlete's usual sport. The goal is improving overall performance. It takes advantage of the particular effectiveness of one training method to negate the shortcomings of another.
