So you guys are clever. With the G.C. i have a group set up. Is it possible to have a chat box for the group?

So when on my mobil device I go to G.C the group icon has changed colour to represent a chat. Tap on group then sub menu drops down with a chat section. And conversation.that would be Amazing

Second question i can up load courses to the ride calendar but i cant download from calendar. Keeps saying file not compatible. But if I log in on computer through web and download the course from course section it works. Any idea why it doesn't. The group is. Dorset ROOTS n Riding. Thank you in advance.

  • You can have a conversation on Garmin Connect Web. When you enter the Group page, on the tab Activity Feed, there are three buttins at the top: Posts, Steps, and Activities (that on is on by default). Use the button Posts for the conversation.

Maybe the GPX extension is not correctly associated with Garmin Connect. Have a look at the document Uploading a Third-Party Course into Garmin Connect and especially the link "How to import a third-party course in the Garmin Connect app"

  • Hi trux. Thank you for quick reply.  I have found the chat on web  page. But would be better if you can have it in the app. Eg. I go to G.C touch app on phone . Then find chat.

Dont really want to load up through Internet.  Then log in to garmin. Then go to group.

If I have to fo that why would I bother putting G.C app on my phone when I can just load it up through web browser.

  • Hi trux. Again thank you for quick reply. The file I had created was through garmin connect using there system. I road a route then converted it to a course. Then Uploaded it to group calendar. If I use web then it works fine. But if trying to use Gc. Calendar in group settings it says incompatible.

  • But would be better if you can have it in the app.

Sure, but it is not. We, on the user forum, can you give only existing solutions. If you need anything else, you have to contact Garmin directly, since they won't see you request here.

It does not matter, the same answer still applies - your phone still has to be set up properly to open the downloaded GPX files in the right way.
