That's not surprising because Instinct does not support the Connect IQ technology at all. Only the Garmin Connect Mobile and Garmin Explore apps work with Instinct. Garmin Connect IQ is reserved for devices supporting the IQ technology, and Instinct is not among them.
ConnectIQ supports all versions of the new Instinct 2, but not the Instinct or Instinct Solar. So unless you miswrote and you have an Instinct 2 Solar you can't use ConnectIQ. If you have an Instinct 2 Solar, you should post in the Instinct 2 forum :)
