Venu Sq not connecting to phone after latest update.

After the latest firmware update to SW Version 2.3, Connect IQ 3.2.1 and not sure if any other version is relevant, my watch stopped communicating with my phone. I removed the watch from Bluetooth on my Android Huawei P20 Pro phone, remove the watch from the Connect app, and tried to reconnect it. As I pair phone from the watch, the phone's Connect app sees it but then returns a Pairing failed error after about one minute of trying.

What happened and how can I pair my watch to my phone again?

  • I restarted my phone and restarted again my watch and went again through the process of adding a new device in Connect. It worked finally.

Why are the firmware upgrades so painful with Garmin? This one was clearly the most difficult, but the previous also lost my registered credit cards, watch faces, widgets and data apps. I have had to reconfigure/add these again multiple times since I got my first Garmin watch about 1 and a half months ago. For the Garmin Pay, my workaround was to disable the card in Connect and then reenable it... after that the card reappeared on the watch. This part of their software is not stable! Maybe you have too many different devices to support Garmin?

  • That's where I posted. Seems I was moved over to here.
