The prescribed workout: 1.6k warm up + 4 times 800m fast with 30 second breaks in between + 1.6k cool down
A few problems:
1. The prescribed pace for the 800m is 7:20 - 0:00 min/km. During my run, it keeps beeping to alert me that I was *** ahead *** even if I was super slow. I think this is because the pace is specified to be 7:20 - 0:00 instead of 0:00 - 7:20.
2. After the workout, coach says "room to grow" despite the fact that my pace was faster than 7:20 (around 6:00 during the 800m's). I'm about 8 weeks into the plan and all other completed workouts were rated "good".
3. The 30 second breaks are way too short for recovery -- is this intended?
4. Before this speed repeats workout, my longest run was about 5k (2 minutes warm up + 4.83km + 2 minutes cool down). The total distance of the speed repeats is about 6.5k. It seems strange that I wasn't given a chance to run this distance at a slower/steady pace first.
Please fix some of the above, especially the alert about being ahead.
