Showing latest message notification, not first unread message

I have a Fenix 5x, and when I get notifications sent to it from texts, Slack, whatever, it always shows the first unread message in the conversation rather than the latest. If I'm getting a bunch of texts from someone, I want to be able to glance down as they come in and see the latest one, not have the first unread one pop up every single time a new one rolls in. Is there a way to change this?

It seems to be Garmin specific, not App specific, as multiple Apps behave this way.

I'm experiencing the same problem with my vivoactive 3 music and WhatsApp, I thought it was me to start with but now you mention it.

I am also having the same problem. I feel as if it's a recent development, because I definitely remember being able to follow a group conversation from my watch. It was rather useful that way, because I could see whether or not it was worth looking at my phone for. Garmin?

It's basically that the phone notifications have changed. The Garmin watch will only display what is given to it. Depending on the text app you use, it may have changed so that the entire text thread shows instead of the newest ones as they come in. I'm going to try to change the notification settings for the app, or switch to a different text app that will display the notifications correctly.

I've tried different settings, but none of them worked. I also installed and tested another app (Google Messages). But even with this, the notifications are not displayed correctly.

Really very annoying because it worked for a long time ...

My Subaru connected to my phone displays the meaage correctly seems more likeke a garmin connect issue

This is really annoying - any solution would be great. I'm getting this for all apps on Android
