Garmin 45s will not sync with Samsung Galaxy S20+

Help! My Garmin Forerunner 45s will not sync with my Samsung Galaxy S20+ and I have tried (repeatedly) all of the suggestions. Any tips before I lose my mind?

Some other FR45 users reported sync problems with the GC version 4.36.2. It was fixed with the version 4.36.3. Verify your version in GC Menu » Settings, and update the app if you have an older one. If you are already using the recent version, then follow the guide seilogramp posted.
