Today it shows "error" in creation of workout or modifying a previously made workout

Today I couldn't t create new workout or modify a previously made workout, it always shows "an error occured".. So can somebody explain to me what's wrong?
I was able to create a workout via the Web UI at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/workouts , but am also getting this error when trying to create a Workout in the app.
Chatted with support about this. They had me unpair my watch from the app, turn the watch off. Sign out of the app. Uninstall the app. Reboot my phone.
After all that, I reinstalled the app, signed in, but didn't pair my device to the app right away. Instead I skipped all that, started an activity on my watch, waited for GPS to go green. Then discarded the activity.
Then I paired my watch to the app using the "pair phone" setting in the actual watch. Seems like now I can create a workout! :)
