The gaps mean that stress was not measurable, not necessarily that HR was not available. Stress is not measurable for different reasons. The missing HR is one of them, of course, too, but there are other reasons - for example activity. When you are active (moving), there is a change of HRV that the algorithm cannot tell whether it comes due to the stress or due to the effort, hence it stops measuring the stress.
