LG K40 finds Vivosmart but won't connect in bluetooth

I have a new LG K40 phone. In Bluetooth it see the Vivosmart 3 but can not connect to it. My old Samsung fell into the kitchen sink and now I'm screwed trying to use my Vivosmart to connect to the apps on my phone.

You need to connect Bluetooth using the Connect app, not in android Bluetooth settings.

Thank you for your reply, but I should have been more specific The Vivosmart 3 is connected to the phone and works. It's the ability to control the music tracks (forward/back/pause/play) from the Vivosmart 3. It also doesn't me my messages and local weather. The music track control allows me to use those functions while cycling and working out.

I don't have a vivosmart 3, so can't confirm. I checked the manual and Garmin's support site. Do you have permissions allowed? The Music Control Widget is not controlling the last used media player on my phone
