Sleep Venu

I noticed that the sleep periods and total sleep changes from that when I wake up. I thought that a better analysis is done after my setup sleep period ends and though I must take a look but that not the case. It keep changing even long after the sleep period ends. Can anybody explain why is that and how to fix it.

  • Since a longer time, I suspect Garmin uses just some kind of random generator of the sleep data Smiley. Either that, or some auto-learning algorithm, adjusting itself continuously. Still it makes no sense that they generate the data each time you view it, instead of storing when parsed the first time. Regardless whether it is just randomly generated, or coming from an auto-learning algorithm, I would not rely on the data much.

  • Thank you 4 answer. I think on all the efforts made to gather and  present the data yet one can not rely on it or use it as helping tool. I don't know howmuch Garmin listen and if it is worth time and effort to contact them. I noticed also if my sleep is broken, a part befor midnight and a part after so ignor Garmin the part befor middnight. This is not the case if the sleep is broken anther time than about midnight.

I think they do, since the newest models, like for example the Fenix 6 already have the sleep analysis built into the watch's firmware, and do no rely on the server-side analysis. It still may need some work to make it really usable, but hopefully they are on the right way. We can only hope they improve the server-side analysis too, but definitely the more people contact them directly, the better, since they certainly assign higher priority to frequently demanded features.
