Manual activity log and HR data merging

Dear Garmin team.

I log my horse riding session .... And I had in mind that like on my previous Fitbit (I quit them to move to the complete Garmin environment 2 weeks ago) the activity will log the corresponding period Hearth Rate .... And no!

That means the horse riding log is very poor and useless for all statistics ...

I'm convinced this is not something difficult for you to add.

So let's me hope you will improve soon.

  • Which Garmin device do you have? Which HRM are you using? Can you share a link to one of the problematic activities from Garmin Connect Web.

  • I'm convinced this is not something difficult for you to add.

In fact would be very difficult, since we are users just like you. If you want to send a message to Garmin, it is better calling or writing the Support directly. However, Heart Rate graphs are normally the part of the Horseback activity, so there was either a problem with the HRM on your device, or you own a device without HRM, or instead of starting the HB Activity at the beginning of your ride, and stopping it at the end, you entered the Activity manually afterwards. Or perhaps you used a wrong Activity profile, or relied just on the automatic activity detection MoveIQ, that does not start logging of the Activity data.

  • Dears

    I have a vivoactive 4S.

And yes I log the activity afterwards because horseback is not on the watch ...

It was the same on my Fitbit... But the HR merge based on the hours of activity start and stop.

But you true, as I'm a new user there is still a lot of parameters I need to learn and play with.

  • And yes I log the activity afterwards because horseback is not on the watch

That's the wrong way. Record the HBR as Running, Walking, Cycling or Cardio (if you do not want the GPS tracking), and change the activity type to Horseback Riding once synced, in your Garmin Connect account (in the app, or on the web).

  • Thanks a lot!

    I'll try this week-end.

  • BTW, on Vivoactive 4s, you can also add the Horseback Riding as a custom activity, activating/disabling features like GPS, alerts, and customizing the screens to your liking. You may still need to change the Activity type to HBR later in Garmin Connect, though.
