Training Load not synchronised between fenix 6 and Edge 1030 in GCM

I've got the fenix 6 sapphire since about 1 week and have been training on my bike using the Edge 1030. Training Status (or training focus) get's synchronized and so does the 7-day load. However, Training Load doesn't get synchronized, it says "No Data available" and the 7-day load differs a lot. On the Edge, there is plenty of data so its correctly referring my training sessions.

This is what is beeing displayed in fenix 6 training status:

This is what the edge is showing:

Shouldn't the values be synchonised? Physio TrueUp is enabled on both devices. On the fenix I can also review my rides which have been recorded via edge. In Garmin Connect Web, it looks quite good for both devices.

On the fenix 6 watch itself the values look the same as in the edge, so i guess Physio TrueUp is working between the devices, but this seems to be only a GCM for Android related issue.

  • No one experiencing this kind of behaviour?

  • I have the same issue. Garmin’s faq says the edge device and wearable need to be synced BEGORE an activity. This is NEVER going to happen with me. Have you found a solution?

  • If the FAQ says that they need to be synced before the activty, then that is what you need to do to make it work and that is also my experience and solution to make it work.

The watch is on you all times so it is automatically synced. The only thing you need to do is to start the 1030 a few minutes before your ride and start Garmin Connect app to make sure it syncs.

  • The way it is worded on garmin website makes it sound like if I want to run on my fenix I have to sync the edge before. As I keen them in different locations this is not really possible. I will try this afternoon and see what it does.

  • The only thing you need to do is to make sure that the device got an updated view of your training before you start an activity with that device. If you sync your Edge after the ride you don't have to sync it again before you use the Fenix. Nothing has changed on the Edge from the last sync.

A watch is something you usually have on you at all times it will automatically always be up to date. The Edge is normally turned off and will therefore need to sync before you use it.

A special case would be if you do run-bike-run with those two devices. Then they will probably not have time to sync between each activity and might get a different view of you training. I haven't tested that. What you should do is probably to use the Fenix for all 3 activities and use the Edge just as a navigator or use the extended display function. Personally I would like to get that activity as a multisport activity and not split up in 3 different activities and then I need to log it with one device.

  • Yes it work's like  suggested.
