Then there are couple of other conditions: the activities must have been recorded by a Garmin device (manually entered and imported activities do not count), and the activities have to be of the type "Walk". Hiking does not work.
Garmin brings a new package of badges every month, but they do not publish their intentions in advance. So keep an eye on the badges page. There are already plenty of biking badges, and more will certainly come again too.
