Log in error android

Hello. I have a Huawei p10 with Android 5.1. Everytime I log into app I get an error message - java.long.exception 401.

It looks like non-latin or accented letters in the user name can cause this error on some phones. Change your user name in the Public Profile of Garmin Connect Web, and try again. See also the thread https…

Thanks. I checked this and my username doesn't have any of those characters. It's just letters and numbers. I have also installed historic versions of Garmin connect and can log in, they just are too old to have the device I want to connect. I get the 'cannot log in' message repeatably.

Are you really running Android 5.1 on that phone? It was shipped with Android 7 and can be upgraded to Android 9.

Anyway. Use your email address when you login to the app.
