Why do some routes sync to Edge 830 but not all

I have plotted routes in Strava desktop, starred all of the routes, but only some of them appear on Garmin Edge 830. I have then un-starred and re-starred all routes. All of the routes appear in Garmin Connect app, but don't all transfer onto Edge, even after syncing app to Edge. Is there something specific to some routes which would prevent them appearing in the Saved Courses menu on the Edge unit?

I had the same issue, suddenly the routes were not syncing anymore to the Garmin Edge 830. what resolved it for me: I connected the Edge to the computer and deleted all routes from the "Garmin/Courses…

Could you share a link to a Strava route that isn't working?

One issue I've seen with syncing routes is when you use the same name for multiple routes. Apparently the names have to be unique.

https://www.strava.com/routes/2721370697687243952 this is starred in desktop, but doesn't appear on Edge 830 unit. Have managed to sync other routes created today.

I duplicated your route in Strava and starred it. It showed up on Garmin Connect as a course. After syncing my Forerunner the course showed up on my device. So not sure why yours didn't work. Have you checked for duplicate names, as e7andy mentioned?

I had the same issue, suddenly the routes were not syncing anymore to the Garmin Edge 830. what resolved it for me: I connected the Edge to the computer and deleted all routes from the "Garmin/Courses/" folder. after that, the syncing worked normally again. funnily, there were exactly 100 routes, but there was still plenty of storage on the device, so potentially there is some limit of routes that can be synced?

Yes, there is a limit 100 routes in Garmin and we can't change it. This is information from Garmin Support.

I had the same issue. This is really bad UX from Garmin, to just ignore / delete any new imported Course after 100 courses have been imported.. Wasted 1 hour on this..
