Vivosmart 4 activity not syncing

I recorded a run this morning that is not showing in Garmin Connect. This is despite the steps, HR etc. during that time being recorded in Connect. I know that my Vivosmart 4 was recording as I watched the time and the laps go by. After the run I had a notification that the watch software had updated in the night. Is there a big in the new version?

I've rebooted watch and phone (Android). Connect version is 4.33. Watch s/w version is 4.80.

  • Do you see the activity in the watch? After you stopped the activity you have to save it and when you connect to your phone and Garmin Connect it will be synced. The first step is to check if the activity actually was saved on the watch.

    You can also do a test activity to see that everything is working as it should by just starting any activity for one second and saving it and see that it is uploaded to Connect.

    I don't think I can view activities on the vivosmart 4? I've done a tester and that did sync. I also distinctly remember saving the earlier run. So I am now even more perplexed. Is there any way to retrieve the data?
