Route correct but distance way out

Both OS maps and Google maps put my bike ride at around 7 miles. My watch has tracked the route perfectly but has it down as 2.89 miles which is way off! Any help appreciated in how this has happened.

  • Could you share the Activity as Weblink, and post the link here?

  • On your bicycle are you using the Speed sensor instead of GPS for speed and distance? If so I'd say the calibration is off there. If you use Strava, it would be interesting to see what the Correct Distance function says - what it does is recalculate all the recorded GPS points.

  • My wife has the same problem with a new Garmin Lily. The watch doesn't have GPS so it is using the GPS of the phone. When she starts a cycling activity the recorded route in Garmin connect is correct. But the distance shown is way off. For a 3.6 km ride, the watch just shows about 1.1km.

Did you solve the problem with your device?

  • I have the same problem with my Garmin vivomove sport while walking and running. Did you find a solution?
