Just Keep Swimming badge not showing up

Hello,

I went on vacation to the ocean and had forgotten to add my open water swims. I went back in to add them, but I'm not getting the "Just Keep Swimming" badge for the activity. What gives?

Manual activities do not count for (most) badges. You need to record a true open-water swimming activity with the watch.

Any outdoor swimming. May be a river or even an outdoor pool. You just need the GPS to be active. And do not forget the GPS does not work when the wrist is underwater, so you need to swim freestyle, or…

So I went to my activity and edited the activity type from "swim" to "open water swim" and that awarded the badge. It doesn't automatically know it's open water.

Thanks for the reply trux! Do you know if "Open Water" only means the ocean or if it can be a lake/anything other than a pool?

Any outdoor swimming. May be a river or even an outdoor pool. You just need the GPS to be active. And do not forget the GPS does not work when the wrist is underwater, so you need to swim freestyle, or be wearing the watch under the swim cap or on a float (if you swim breaststroke).

I've swam in the ocean twice now. Neither time has given me the badge. I'm using the swim activity. Am I still doing something wrong?

I'm using a Forerunner 245M of that matters.
