Not able to setup new device stuck at starting setup.

Got my new forerunner 245. When I am trying to setup the device and pair it with my phone, the Garmin connect app is stuck at

Starting setup..

I can see the device as a regular Bluetooth device but Garmin connect app refuses to connect.

I am having this same issue. Have tried a full reset of watch, power cycle of phone, really everything imaginable. Did you ever get this resolved?

Reinstall the app. Make sure you do not pair to your 245 using the Bluetooth settings, just pair using the app. More here -

If still no joy after this, then best to contact Garmin directly https://support.garmin.com
