Do Garmin Coach workouts need to be completed on flat courses?

First post, forgive any newbie gaffs...

I live in the alps and usually run relatively hilly terrain (10k 300D+ would be about as flat as it comes).

I recently started the Garmin Coach 10k plan to help build speed.

Will the adaptive program work if i am running on hilly terrain with significant pace differences linked to gradient?

Cheers,

Alex.

Update: From my workout today it looks like you are expected to keep a given pace, not taking into account gradient, so i think the answer is no, best to run on the flat... Would be happy to be corrected if i'm wrong.

  • I don't no why Garmin coach plan don't use the inbuild map in our watches? But if you run upp on a hill and the pace is to slow you get the "good work" if you made the distans.
