Badge Challenge

I joined the Weekend 40 cycle challenge 19-21 June and completed the ride successfully on 19th. I had to enter the activity manually as my Vivosmart 3 does not automatically record cycle activities. I am disappointed not to receive the badge and points, even though I synched within the recommended time, and I am now being told I did not join the challenge. I feel slightly cheated.

    That won't work. You need an activity recorded by a Garmin device, manually enetered Activities do not count. With Vivosmart 3 you could simply record a general Timed Activity and set the type to Cycling at that activity in Garmin Connect later. That would work just fine.
