LiveTrack Activating with Multiple Devices

I own an Edge 530 and Instinct.  I have set LiveTrack to auto start with an activity.  LiveTrack does autostart with both devices.  I prefer that LiveTrack only be activated when I use the 530 and not the Instinct.  I have selected the 530 under the devices page of the LiveTrack settings as instructed on the Garmin LiveTrack support page:

"If you have more than one Garmin device paired with the Garmin Connect app, make sure you select the right one under Devices in the LiveTrack settings before you start your activity."

The instructions imply that only the selected device with start LiveTrack.  Am I missing something?

  • I am also experiencing this. I have an Edge 830 and vivoactive3. in GC Mobile (Android) I have the Edge 830 selected as my livetrack device.

Until recently only the Edge 830 would autostart which is exactly what I wanted, but in the past couple of weeks I've noticed that it doesn't matter which device is selected in GC Mobile....starting an activity on either my Edge 830 or my VA3 is triggering and autostart for LiveTrack.

    :-(

I’m having the same issue, and apparently Garmin was unaware of this. I was literally on the phone with support, with my Garmin Edge 830 sitting on my desk when it started live tracking an activity I wasn’t even doing. I also have my Vivo 3 connected, and I also disabled live track for the Vivo 3, and I still have the issue. Garmin has opened a “case” for me, and I am still waiting to hear back from them.

  • I've noticed that the Garmin Connect mobile app has changed recently. Within the Livetrack settings you can now individually turn Livetrack autostart on or off for each device which supports it.

Seems to work so far for me.

  • Agreed.  With the latest GC mobile, my issue has been resolved.
