Hi,
I have a vivoactive 4 and the Garmin connect app on an Android phone. A simple thing like syncing a custom workout does not work. What is the problem here? This renders my purchase pretty useless.

TLDR;
Agreed! How do I create a workout, with separate activities, that will download to my Vivoactive 4 and where may these custom workouts be found using only the watch's display and buttons. If there is a time delay or magic incantation required, please offer that information too.
Also: What's the difference between a Workout and Activity? Is Hierarchical? Is a Workout a collection of Activities? You define Cardio as a both a Workout type and as an Activity (and other things too). Which is it?
Also Also: Basketball isn't an activity?! You obviously have never played basketball.
The Rest:
Hey Garmin! Are there any Garmin techs out there willing to take this on? IS there an official Garmin tech support site available or are you relying on battle-scarred users who manage to figure this stuff out on their own?
I've tried adding a custom workout from the Web Browser interface and from the Android app (Pixel 2, Android 10) nothing works. Haven't tried with the watch because I have 10 fingers for a reason. SOMEHOW while experimenting, a managed to get 2 custom workouts to download to the watch. It's a mystery how it happened because they magically showed up several weeks after I had created them. Is there come kind of COVID-19 quarantine to keep the internet from infecting the watch? If so, I can live with that! Let me know what to expect!
Of the 5 test custom workouts created, only 2 showed up, and in ddifferent menus on the watch. One, Workout called Stretching shows up under the following sequence:
The other custom workout shows up by following the first two steps above but instead press the little 4 dot thingee that poorly mimics the Windows logo by displaying a list of "Favorites" that I never designated as Favorite. The last item of my "Favorites" is my second custom workout. So why is it under a Favorites menu? Why isn't it under a "Workouts" menu or even a "Custom Workouts" menu?
Unfortunately this nonsense is common on tech products Apparently coders code and that's it.. Apparently usability and documentation skills are reviled or uncool or something because what little exists is abysmal. Garmin's attempt at this seems thorough, because it shows how to perform each step (How to manually add a workout, How to sync, How to change data fields ,etc) but it doesn't connect the dots between the activities and what to do or what to look for when things go wrong.
It's like explaining how to drive a car: Turn the steering wheel to turn the front wheels. Press brakes to make the car stop. Press the accelerator to make the car go. This button turns on the radio. This button turns on the AC. Now you can drive a car!
Where is the brake pedal? How fast should the car go? How do I adjust the temperature? What if I don't like the radio station? Do I need to start the car or anything? Guess I'm out of luck because no one cares if I can actually USE the car, but I sure do know where things are and what they do!
So the overarching question is: How do I create a workout, with separate activities that will download to my Vivoactive 4 and where may these custom workouts (Plural) be found using only the watch's display and buttons. If there is a time delay or magic incantation required, please offer that information too.
Thank you for sticking with this screed. This is good therapy for me and you may have saved an innocent bystander from harm during a tech rage.
