Why is garmin edge 1030 not pairing with my phone?

The phone recognizes the 1030 and the 1030 will show my phones name as well. I get the passkey code on both devices and select "pair". However, it will not get past the "completing setup of your Edge 1030 device" page. The loading bar will go about 1/3 of the way and then pairing fails. It has gone as far as about 2/3 of the way and failed.

I have tried:

Resetting the device multiple times. Thru settings and by holding all buttons down

Removing device from bluetooth on phone

Removing device from Garmin App

Uninstalling/Reinstalling Garmin Connect

Force Stop Garmin Connect and try again

Turning on and off wifi

Turning on airplane mode

Plugging in device to computer via USB and updating thru Garmin Express

Restarting phone and 1030

Moving to different area of my house

Ive searched all over google and cannot find a solution that has worked for me.

I have an LG V40 ThinQ running Android version 10

My Edge 1030 is on software version 9.50

    BTW I have connected an Edge 130, Edge 520, and Edge 520 plus to the same phone before using Garmin Connect App.

    Is it really this hard to connect this device? Or do I have a defective 1030?

    Has this been resolved yet? I have had the same issue when switching from a Samsung Note 9 to an LG V60.

    Worked fine on the Samsung, will not pair with the LG.

    Solved it by installing an older version (4.22.1) of GC. Paired with that, then updated GC.

    How did you go about doing this? I have an edge1030 that I just purchased and it won't connect to my samsung S21. My vivoactive4 watch has no issues and the Garming edge 1030 connects to my GF's Iphone without any issues....  I have tried everything stated in the Garmin troubleshooting guides and nothing will work. I am about to resell the edge and just go buy a Wahoo Elemnt...
