I did the 3 mile Walk challenge on June the 5th and 6th this past weekend but did not receive the badge. Why would this be? They both were record live.

I did the 3 mile walk challenge on June 5th and 6th this past weekend but did not receive the badge. Why would this be? They were both recorded live.

    Same here!

    It says: 3mi or 5km between 5th - 7th of June.
    Did a 5k on Friday 5th and nothing happened.

    As written in the thread Weekend Wanderer, there are two possible reasons:

    1. You did not join the Weekend Walking Challenge (on the Challenges page)
    2. Your walk was not recorded as the Walk activity, but rather as Hiking instead

    In the first case - join the Challenge now, open the activity, change and save the title, or select Edit, make a minor change and save it.

    In the second case, simply change the activty type to Walk.

    Yes you were right!
    I´ve seen the badge and thought it will work the same way, all previous badges worked.
    And without you link I would not find out, that there is a possibility to join special badge-challanges.
    Not very intuitive or easy to find...
    Off course the challange is not shown anymore, neither the badge is. So I can forget about it!

    I guess the following badges will pass by, because no one keeps an eye on that page all the time Nerd

    Well, it is written directly on the badge description:

    "Join this challenge and record a 3-mile walking activity from June 5-7."

    And all Challenges are always on that page, so it should not be that diffcult to find.

    I tried to go to the challenge page but it's now past. Any way to still get credit for it since I did the actual task twice?

    I am afraid not. This is not the clasical badge, where you are rewarded for the performance only. This is a Challenge Badge, where you are rewarded for completing the Challenge associated with it. And since you did not complete the Challenge, and the Challenge is now over, you won't be awarded the badge. At least I am not aware of any hack that would allow to join a closed Challenge retrospectively. I do not quite believe that changing the date on your computer could help, but you can certainly try it.

    Edit: If you have some skills in coding JavaScript, you could try pulling out the code for joining a challenge, finding out the ID of the old challenge, and injecting the modified code into the interface, but although it is certainly doable, I am still not sure whether the Challenge can be joined in this way, once it is over. It may be simply locked on the server side, and it such case even the injected code would not help.

    I completed several of these challenges,  the latest 2/12-2/14 walking more than 4 miles in one walk.  I was notified that I didn't get a badge, and when you look at the bottom of the page it states "no connection has received this badge "

    Other challenges let you know how many miles/steps you have done during the challenge.   There is definitely something wrong with the weekend 3 mile challenge. 

    Do you know how to notify someone at Garmin connect who can actually fix the problem?

    I do not think so. I've received the February Weekend Walking badge without any problems (and all previous ones too), and as well several of my Connections did. Post a link to the activity that you believe should have made gain you the badge, so that we can have a look at it, and perhaps see where the problem is.

    I keep an eye on that page all the time and post about it in my [blog] and in the Facebook group [Garmin badge group]. So, if you join that Facebook group or follow my blog you will get updates about everything about badges and challenges.

    The challenges that only requires one activity don't have any progress since that would be pointless. Either you do the required distance or not.

    35 of my connections got that badge and I also got it so it seems to work.

    Start by doing as trux says and post a link to the activity. Then we can see if there is any obvious reason to why you didn't get it.
