downloaded Garmin connect

Very excited in the purchase of my Vivoactive 3 today and went to download the Garmin Connect on my HTC Pro Ten and of course the app does not open. Just will not go beyond sign in. Screen just sits there doing nothing. Tried twice by uninstalling and downloading from googleplay.

Can anyone help and offer some advice please. 

I have gone into my settings and selected the app and ticked all the relevant permissions and re-booted my phone but still the same....

  • Are you sure you installed the Garmin Connect Mobile app, and not just Garmin Connect IQ? The second app is just for installing additional watch faces and apps, while the first one serves for monitoring your activities and other data.

    Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have connect and not IQ. I have registered with Garmin and tried sign in and still not doing anything, so tried create account and both takes you to the "Legal" screen so I tick both boxes then click next and another screen opens and at the top is sign in which I tap and nothing. It will not do anything. I have uninstalled this three times and downloaded it from Google play store, so trusted source. 

    Next thing is to contact Garmin tomorrow. I am certainly not going to replace my mobile as the OS is more than compatible with this app.
