why doesn't the map show on my Garmin android app

Do you start the Running Activity manually, or do you use the automated MoveIQ activity detection? If using MoveIQ, start it manually instead. Also, verify the settings of the Run Activity, whether GPS is enabled.

Thnaks for the reply Trux, I start all my activities manually. I went in to garmin connect and clicked and activities and then chose run and then edit activities, butt there are no oprions to check if GPS is enabled, Is this what you were suggesting?

Settings of each respective activity type are on the watch, not on the phone, so you have to check out the settings there.

My maps have been disappearing, but if I go out and back into the activity, it appears - hoping it might be as simple as that (if GPS Was enabled)

I am afraid I do not understand at all what the problem is. Maps are disappearing from where? Of course a map of an activity is visible only if you open the respective activity screen in the Garmin Connect Mobile app, and when you exit the app, there is no map. That's the normal behaviour. What maps do you exactly miss and where? Could you post a screenshot demonstrating the issue?

Literally as it sounds - map disappears from activity. Go out of the activity, back into the activity and it's showing like it should!

So when it is there like it should when you open the activity, then at which moment exactly does it disappear? Can you post a screenshot of such situation?

Shows initially, rename and gone. Go out and back into activity and it'll be back again
