When trying to view a live track activity from the website I get this message 'Page will update automatically when location data is available.'

I have an Edge 520. After a recent update, no one is able to track me from the website. They keep seeing the message 'Page will update automatically when location data is available.'  My phone does stay connected during the entire activity. Any idea why this is happening?

  • A bug in the current Garmin Connect Mobile app v4.30 prevents the use of LT on some Edge devices. Garmin Support is aware of the issue and a fix will be released with the next version of the app. Either wait for the fix, or install the previous version v4.29 from one of many public APK archives on the web.

  • Trux - you seem to be getting a LOT more info out of Garmin than anyone else.  Have they given any hint as to when the next version of the app might be released?

  • I have just the info from this forum, from other users who spoke to the Support directly.

    No, they did not give any hint about the release date, but from previous experience, the release dates of individual versions are typically spaced by several weeks (a month or more), so I'd guess that you may still need to wait a week or two. Perhaps more, if they have multiple complicated issues to fix and test.

    If in a hurry, use the old v4.29 from an APK archive

    Any updates / sad that we have to wait for a function that was working and now its not

    Le problème se reproduit pratiquement tous les ans. C'est quand même pas normale de la part de Garmin qui se dit la référence dans ce domaine. Et y a pas que l'EDGE 520 qui est concerné....

    This past week I made sure I had all updates both on the app and on my 520 and it's still not working.

    This bug is still active. This is why I hate updating apps.  Whatever App version I had before - worked up until 2 weeks ago (last use).  Last 2 days - "Could not send to recipients" error. Exactly when I needed to use it!  Day 2 out of frustration updated the app..  Great.  Well that got emails to send, now the latest version (4.37.2) failed with the same error message as the O.P.  from 6 months ago!!!   Unbelievable. 

  • Why? I see the original post is from 11 months ago. My device and tracking was working fine until about 4 months ago but now...4 months later it's still not working and nobody can track me while I'm out exercising. I have a Fenix 5 Plus. Help! This is ridiculous. 

  • I did a quick test and started LiveTrack. I'm not using auto start. Just click "Start LiveTrack".

    I got the link and before I start the activity there is a message on the map:
    "No Location Data
    The page will update automatically when location data is available."

    As soon as the watch (945) got the position it popped up on the map. I didn't have to start an activity. As Soon as I started the activity I got a green runner symbol on my position.

    What part isn't working? Can you start LiveTrack? Is the link sent to the recipients? What is the message on the map?
