Garmin Vivoactive 4s course upload

Hi,

Am I able to upload courses to vivoactive 4s? It says it's unsupported. I'm so disappointed. Is there any way to do it?

    You can have a look at the Connect IQ app dwMap - it seems to offer some kind of maps, courses, and navigation, and it is compatible with Vivoactive 4S too.

    There are some more similar apps from the same author in the IQ store, so check them out, perhaps one of them is fitting your needs even better.

    Thanks for the mention trux, and yes our dwMap app would be the appropriate choice for that.

     I massively feel your disappointment, I'm so disappointed too :( My husband's Garmin has it and I find the 'navigation' marketing blurb really misleading when I bought this one, I really thought the Vivoactive4s would have courses as part of it. I'm going to try and send mine back as it was a key feature for me arrghhhhhh Disappointed

    Hi there, I see when I download dwMap to my garmin, I am able to download a route to my vivoactive 4S. However, how do I start my run on my garmin and use the app at the same time?

    dwMap runs instead of using the built-in Run, Bike, Hike, etc feature.  It uses the same internal recording feature as those do, so you open dwMap and press the Start button.  When you stop and save the activity it gets saved to History on the watch, and sync'ed to Garmin Connect the same as it would using Run.
