Kayak course?

Hi, I'm trying to plot a kayak trip using courses but it will only plot on land.

Only really looking to get the directions to make sure we stay on course so don't need the additional data but does anyone know if its possible or if there is a better way to do it?

You can create the course in any external tool exporting in GPX format

... and BTW, I just tried creating a course on the sea with Garmin Connect Web (not the phone app!), and it works all right there. You just need to select the Freehand option.

If it's a somewhat popular kayaking location, there' a chance someone has already publicly saved the course on Garmin Connect Web. Here's one near me that goes down a river - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/30159588. In which case you can send it directly to your device or save a duplicate to your own course listing.
