Inaccurate rep count

Former Member
Former Member

my VivoActive 3 is not counting my exercise reps correctly.

It does fine, until I stop for a second to either catch my breath or see my progress.

After I continue the exercise. It refuses to count. It simply freezes the count to the last number I did before I stopped to look at the watch!

Anyone else has this!?

  • Such is the life. Nothing is perfect and even the technology fails all the time, not only people. You can still edit the activity to your liking in Garmin Connect, if you really want.

Except that innacurate (or downright buggy) rep count defeats the purpose of the watch.
I know I can edit it myself. But the whole point of this thing is to count for me and tell me when to stop. So I can concentrate on my breathing and exercise. Instead of keeping score in my head.

Honestly this thing gets worse each update.

  • Sell it and buy something better

    Or or...get this.. crazy idea...
Maybe see if anyone else had this problem and fix it.

P.s- are you always this philosophical?

  • Depends on the mood. Right now I have a philosophical mood :)

I would prefer a helpful mood tbh.
The watch used to work fine for months. Now after 4 SW updates. It stopped being accurate for rep count. Its obvious that the problem is SW related. Because it used to work perfectly.

  • Well, if it is really a firmware issue, you would certainly get a better answer if you asked on the Vivoactive 3 forum, since your issue does not seem to have any relation to Garmin Connect Mobile Android (that's the forum you are posting to). You can even find a fellow member there, who kept a copy of the previous firmware version, and can give it to you, so that you can downgrade back to it.

Sadly this forum is already pretty dead and inactive.

I've been to vivoactive 3 forum. Asked numerous times about numerous subjects regarding the watch.

    Zero replies.

Most threads are over 2 years old.

I am not getting any help there. Disappointed

As for the downgrade. Its impossible to do so.

Updates are over the air. And even if you can downgrade sw. It will just update itself back in 3 minutes.

The updates are forced and mandatory Im afraid.

Garmin should just stick to doing what they do best, Navigations

    Watches are a complete bust

  • Then contact the support. If they have no immedate remedy, aks them to give you the copy of the older firmware version. They should have no problem with that.

  • Watches are a complete bust

I can only repeat my previous "phylosophical" rant - stop losing your nerves with it, sell the watch, and buy a better product. Or stop using technology altogether, since there are bugs in any product you chose, anyway.
