where did you change that ? in Garmin connect ? compared to spous's ?

the fit file and GPS clearly show 3.01mi Slight smile

no, am saying no, but I do not understand your question Slight smile

go with the one second solution

  • Funny enough this is the only one I used the strava distance from.

I'll set to one second recording and go from there . I  the meantime I anxiously await delivery of the forerunner 645. Now that will be interesting when I run my regular 5k route to see what it records.  Every other garmin records 3.11 miles

can this last track be avoided using a structured workout ?

In fact you are just losing time here, , there is no problem in the FIT files. I compared, side by side, the two tracks that   ran together with her husband. Rachel's watch simply shows more deviations from the road they used, than the watch of her husband, despite that she used Every Second Recording in that case, and her husband just the Smart Recording. So, there is nothing to fix in the FIT files, the GPS was simply less accurate than that of her husband - you can clearly see that her GPS does not copy well the road. At least not as well as her husband's GPS.
