Thanks,  I always save my run the minute I stop and even more so on vivo active as touch screen and that can be more easily erased that the buttons on the previous forerunner. 

I really feel like I'm fighting a losing battle but how many examples of different garmins can I give to them , I've given examples of 3 different people all using garmins running with me . I've always been told Garmin customer service is excellent but not in my case unfortunately

I've actually gone and  purchased the forerunner 645M from a different supplier as I cant cope with this watch anymore.  I have asked Garmin for a refund or replacement,  again no answer.

try and set your watch to record every second

the recorded GPS distance is exact as calculated by the watch (checked with FFRT)

one firmware update after May 8th from 7.20 into 7.30

I would dare to say ... nothing to see here apart from the one second recording 

and the one with the glitch in the thread start is also the one after the firmware update

all explanations done by trux sound plausible

trux can this last track be avoided using a structured workout ?

I tried that setting already and had same issues.,its back on smart recording now . I   Also tried the 3 different GPS settings .

Also May 9th was 3.01 not 3.17 ,I manually adjusted that run to reflect actual distance ran
