Banner advert on my day screen

   I reset my android tablet and reinstalled connect. It now has a banner 'advert' on the 'my day' screen which I can't get rid of. I have looked the two options, product info and connect a device, but I can't connect my fr110 as it needs to be plugged in to the laptop. I didn't have this problem before I reinstalled and I have tried uninstalling connect and reinstalling but it is the same. I can't swipe the advert off the screen and it takes up half the screen mean I have to scroll up everyone to the the info I need which is annoying.

  • Banner advert? Did you install the app from some unofficial source? There are no banner adverts in the official version of Garmin Connect. Can you post a screenshot?

  • Was going to add the screenshot before but couldn't see how to Frowning2its the big picture of the two runners I cant remove. I've tried swiping it every which way!️

  • OK, that's not an advert, it is a welcome screen allowing you to connect a device if you did not connect any yet. However, since you have a device without Blootooth, you cannot connect it on the mobile app. You have to do it on Garmin Connect Web

  • Ok, whatever it is called, how do i get rid of it? It wasn't there before I reinstalled the app. I have been using the app and the same watch, which I always connect to the laptop for the the last 18 months although not for the last month due to lockdown, (I'm entering pe and yoga manually)

  • I did put the word advert in ' ' to indicate that it isn't really an advert but that was the best way I could describe a picture that is inviting me to look at the company's other products as well as adding my device(which is not actually an option for my device).

    I guess that when you log into your original account that was already connected with some device, it will be gone automatically, but as long as you use a blank account without any device connected, it will stay there. However, I never used a device without BT, and do not have any, so cannot test it for you.

  • I am logged into my original account and can see all my runs right back to the start in December 2018

    Maybe I'll try using my watch to add an activity via the laptop to see if that gets rid of the banner thing

  • Try logging into the same account on GC Web, and make sure the device is associated with that account (clcik the watch symbol at the top, near your avatar). If there is no device, and you can't add the FR110, you can try adding a bogus one, if it allows you add any at all.

  • I checked on the GC web and my fr110 was still shown. I logged a 2.5 second "run". I can see the run on the app, but still got the banner.

  • Well, if you can't swipe it away, and there is no way to disable it in Edit My Day, then you could try to install an older version of GC Mobile from an APK archive, to see whether it is due to a change in the recent app version. If it turns out to be an issue with the latest version, report it to Garmin Support and hope they can (and are willing to) change it.
