Create a custom workout with running and exercises

I'm trying to figure out how to create a custom workout that is a combination of exercise reps and running.  If I chose workout  type of 'cardio', and add an exercise of 'run', it doesn't let me pick a distance to run.  If I pick workout type of 'other' , I can add a 'go' activity with a distance but when I use it,  it doesn't actually track my run.  The display simply shows I need to do an 800m run....

    You could use Run type of workout. You can for example create it in this way:

    1. Warm up - 5 min
    2. Run - 30 min
    3. Other - 10 min - Notes: 50 squats
    4. Other - 10 min - Notes: 8 planks
    5. Run - 30 min
    6. Other - 20 min - Notes: 100 sit ups
    7. Run - 10 min
    8. Cool down 5 min
  • Yeah that's what I'm doing but on the watch it doesn't show was the notes are so I need to take my phone to try remember... all I need is for it to track distance for runs on a multi activity custom workout

    Hm, I do not know what model you own, but I have a pretty basic and inexpensive model (Garmin Instinct). Still, when I use such workout, and press the enter button on any step, it shows me the notes I entered in Garmin Connect. I would be surprised if it did not work on other models in the same way. Except if you had some really prehistoric watch. In that case, it is perhaps time for an upgrade.
